The salon started as Hopson James Salon. At age 14, I spent a summer shampooing at the salon where my mom was a nail tech. At the time, it was an easy way for me to make some extra money. I was always intrigued watching everyone do hair for hours without stopping. I would get lost watching each stylist. Fast forward a few years, after graduating high school, my family did not have the funds to send me to college. I felt my dreams of becoming a nurse were over and quickly realized that my true passion was beauty. I knew I had to complete my apprenticeship at Hopson James. I finished in less than two years and continued my hair journey at Hopson James Salon, building a successful clientele within 5 years. In 2021, I was given the opportunity to take over the salon and jumped right into renaming and rebranding to Ash Salon.
